No More Fear: Starting a Business from ALG II – How to Secure Your Livelihood!

Are you dreaming of being your own boss, building a company, and achieving financial freedom? But one concern is holding you back: the fear that finalise your start-up? from the ALG IIbenefit (Hartz IV) you might lose your financial security. Let me reassure you: This fear is unfounded! With the right strategy and the correct documents, the step into self-employment is not only safe, but the beginning of your success.

We at X-Group, your institute for Start-up Financing and business development, have already helped countless people make the transition from ALG II to successful self-employment. Rely on our expertise and learn how to communicate effectively with the Jobcenter to ensure your rent, health insurance, and living expenses remain secure.

EKS: The right profit expectation is crucial

You usually submit the EKS every six months. First, a forward-looking estimate of your income and expenses for the coming half-year. Be particularly careful here! An overly optimistic forecast can immediately lead to a drastic reduction in your ALG II benefits, even before you have earned your first euro. For example, if you declare too high a profit, the Jobcenter will reduce your benefits in advance. This could mean you are unable to pay your rent if your expected success does not materialise.

Our recommendation: At the beginning, submit a conservative profit forecast in your forward-looking EKS. This will initially secure you the full ALG II payment. Six months later, you submit the final EKS, which sets out the actual income and expenses for the period.

The Jobcenter trap: Not all business expenses are recognised

Attention: The Jobcenter is different from the tax office! The tax office recognises almost all legal business expenses. The Jobcenter does not. For example, expenses for training or certain business meals can be completely excluded by the Jobcenter. Even for tax advisory costs, often only a portion is recognised.

The consequence: If your costs are excluded, your calculated profit for the Jobcenter increases. If this profit then exceeds your allowance, you will have to repay ALG II benefits retrospectively. For example, if you align your EKS exactly with the allowance and then €1,000 in costs are excluded, you will have to repay this €1,000 or receive that much less.

Your success factor: Competent start-up advice

Starting a business with ALG II is possible, but complex. The pitfalls of the EKS and the different rules for business expenses can quickly lead to mistakes that cost you a lot of money. X-Group knows these processes in detail. We offer you not only expertise in business plan preparation and Fundingapplications, but also specialised knowledge in dealing with the EKS. We help you assess all items correctly and, if required, provide you with professional Excel templates to put an end to the chaos of calculators and paper forms.

We wish you every success with your start-up! Remember, with ALG II the Jobcenter always secures your basic needs, provided you communicate correctly. We can help you fill in the forms and tables correctly.
