KfW StartGeld: the process is via your financing partner.
The subsidised loan is applied for through a financing partner. Therefore, prepare not only the form, but also your business concept, the specific capital requirements, and an explanation of how the business will support the financing.

Does your project fit the programme?
Check company age, eligible costs, and other programme conditions on the current KfW website. Terms and conditions may change.
Is the financing requirement complete?
Distinguish between investments and working capital. Derive the amount from verifiable quotations, costs, and your start-up plan.
Is the sequence correct?
KfW points out that the application should be submitted to the financing partner before starting the project. Clarify in good time which steps are already considered as the start of the project.

Frequently asked questions
Do I apply directly to KfW?
No. The application is submitted via a financing partner, such as a bank or savings bank.
Are the KfW planning templates mandatory?
KfW marks its published planning documents as optional working aids. Which documents your bank requires will be clarified in the specific application.
What should I do if a bank rejects my application?
Secure the feedback and check whether the concept, figures, capital requirements, or other prerequisites were decisive. Submitting an unchanged application will not resolve the original objection.
What does working together cost?
The initial consultation is free of charge. For further services, scope and costs are agreed before engagement. Whether funding is possible depends on your case and the necessary approval.
What happens after I submit my enquiry?
In the financing check, you describe your current situation. In a personal discussion, outstanding points and the required documents are clarified. Afterwards, it can be determined which work is appropriate.
Can I start with incomplete documents?
Yes. Bring any drafts you have and a list of your open questions. Missing information and assumptions will be explicitly identified and added as the process continues.
